Two Hennessy Very Special cocktails inspired by Les Twins movements

In 2021, the Hennessy Very Special pays tribute to its pioneering collaboration with Laurent and Larry Bourgeois — the street movement creators known as Les Twins — with two new cocktail creations, capturing the energy and buzz of the dancing duo.

The "LIL BEAST" cocktail, Laurent’s, and the "CA BLAZE" cocktail, Larry’s, were composed by a mixologist friend of Hennessy, who worked side by side with Les Twins, drawing inspiration from their incredible energy and the many facets of their ground-breaking ‘move out loud’ collaboration. "LIL BEAST" cocktail

The more reserved LIL BEAST cocktail by Laurent combines power and softness in flavours evoking his suave, flowing style. The warm, torrefied aromas of the Hennessy Very Special cognac are complemented by gourmet notes of almond and nutmeg recalling French pastries, counterbalanced by the acidic tang of lemon juice.

50 ml / 1.5 oz Hennessy Very Special
10 ml / 0.4 oz Almond syrup
20 ml / 0.7 oz Lemon juice
Grated nutmeg
1⁄2 Egg white

Step 1: Pour all liquids into a shaker and add egg white. Shake vigorously to emulsify (without ice).
Step 2: Grate nutmeg into shaker in two or three swift, smooth strokes. Give the mixture one last shake with fresh ice.
Step 3: Strain into a coupe glass.
Step 4: Garnish with grated nutmeg.

"CA BLAZE" cocktail

The vibrant, punchy CA BLAZE cocktail nods to the speed and precision of the artist’s legwork. A fizzy cocktail with floral, spicy accents, it showcases the full-bodied taste of Hennessy Very Special, offset by notes of vanilla and elderflower, which has litchi-like tinge. For Larry those aromas resonated with childhood memories. Topped with ginger beer, this drink has both kick and fizz, while lime juice contrasts sweetness with a bright, fresh finish.

30 ml / 1 oz Hennessy Very Special
15 ml / 1⁄2 oz Vanilla syrup
12 ml/ 0.4 oz Elderflower liqueur
25 ml / 0.8 oz Lime juice
40 ml / 1.3 oz Ginger beer
Lime wedge

Step 1: Combine all liquids in a shaker, except ginger beer, and shake it.
Step 2: Fill a glass with ice cubes and strain into a tumbler.
Step 3: Top with ginger beer.
Step 4: Garnish with lime wedge.

The art of creating Hennessy Very Special reveals surprising parallels with the world of dance.
